Multi-Brand Franchisor Costs Solution Brands Tips Up in Fight Against Bust Cancer

This October, Premium Service Brands, the parent company behind fast-growing franchises 360° Painting, ProLift Garage, Renew Crew, Maid Right, Kitchen Wise and Handyman Pro, is leveraging its network of franchisees to make a positive impact in the fight against breast cancer. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the multi-brand franchisor is donating one percent of all recognized revenue to the University of Virginia Cancer Center, specifically to fund breast cancer research. The UVA Cancer Center has been ranked in the top 10% of cancer treatment in the United States.        

“This is a cause that is near and dear to all of our hearts,” said Samantha Lin, Premium Service Brands’ vice president of marketing. “Just about everybody has been affected by breast cancer, whether they’ve had it themselves or supported a friend or family member who has struggled with it. It’s so important to us that we take an active role in the fight against breast cancer.”

For Belinda Wiesehan, co-owner of 360° Painting of Gastonia-Rock Hill, the cause strikes particularly close to home. In 2017, Wiesehan lost her best friend to breast cancer after a decade-long fight with the disease. A year later, Wiesehan herself was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“It just felt like it was all around me,” Wiesehan said. “It wasn’t just me and my friend — I can count 25 people I’m close to who either had cancer or have helped a loved one through it.”

Wiesehan began radiation treatments in 2018, and by the end of the year, her cancer was in remission. “The last day of radiation, I cried my eyes out because I was so happy and sad and still so fearful, all at the same time,” she said.

Today, Wiesehan says she is proud to be partnered with a company that is committed to supporting a fight that means so much to her personally.

“For PSB to step up in this fight, it’s just such a special thing,” Wiesehan said. “When Paul’s [Flick, Premium Service Brands’ CEO] team reached out to me to hear my story, it made me feel like it was going to make my voice that much louder as an advocate. We’re going to create so much more awareness, and it’s going to make a big difference.”

Lin says her team discussed a number of different options for how to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in the end, they decided that donating a portion of all recognized revenue would have the greatest impact.

“Everyone gets to be part of this donation,” Lin explained. “Every estimate and every job contributes to fighting breast cancer. We may be all over the US and Canada but we get to be connected this October.”    

And because Premium Service Brands is the parent company of six distinct franchises, its contribution far exceeds what any one of its brands could donate on its own.

“As we continue to grow, it’s so important to us that we use our success to support the people and communities we work with,” Lin said. “We are dedicated to leveraging all of our resources to create positive change in the world, and playing an active role in the fight against breast cancer is one of the most important ways we can give back.”

This October, Bakersfield resident Harpreet Singh is bringing the madness to Bakersfield with the opening of the newest Teriyaki Madness on October 7. The Seattle-style teriyaki restaurant will offer huge, satisfying bowls of addicting flavors made with high-quality ingredients like all-natural marinated chicken, steak, salmon or tofu with fresh, stir-fried veggies and a base of steamed white, brown or fried rice or Yakisoba noodles.

The new shop is located at 1525 Columbus Street in Bakersfield. Singh is inviting locals out to celebrate the Teriyaki Madness grand opening with events beginning October 7 through October 10. The schedule of events and primary giveaways are included below:

Harpreet Singh moved from India to California when he was ten years old, and has lived in Bakersfield since 2005. He graduated from California State University in 2009, and immediately purchased the Subway location where he worked throughout high school, kicking off his career in franchising. He then shifted to the real estate world in 2015 as a real estate agent and is now becoming a broker in Bakersfield, and has since purchased a second Subway location. Singh, with the support of his wife, was on the hunt for a new concept to add to his franchise portfolio and to leave a legacy for their son when he discovered Teriyaki Madness.

Three Franchise Veterans Team Up to Fuel ZorForum’s Growth

Pet Butler Welcomes Newest Franchise Owner Kelly Amundson

Although local resident Kelly Amundson loved her 16-year career as an occupational therapist, she realized in 2019 that the time had come to help husband Marty manage the family farm and his lawn care businesses. It would allow her to spend more time working towards a common goal alongside her husband and also allowed her to run and operate one of the newest, hottest franchise concepts Pet Butler with their location serving all of South Eastern Minnesota. All this and more time to spend her family in general.

“I learned so much in my career working with teenagers and young adults in the areas of mental health experience and many lessons about teamwork, dealing with whole families and working towards a common goal. It was all invaluable. And now I am using those skills to run my own business, and my husband’s lawn care businesses.”

Husband Marty has worked in lawn care for 19 years, initially starting his own lawn mowing business up years before with Kelly’s brother. The team serviced residential and commercial properties. He began moving into providing fertilization and weed control programs for these local customers and realized there was so much more to a good lawn care business than mowing lawns. When approached by top lawn care franchise Spring-Green Lawn Care, based in Plainfield, Illinois five years ago, Marty decided the time was right to add this proven concept to his already existing Green Edge Lawn Care. At one of Spring-Green’s conventions he was introduced to a new concept the parent company had acquired, Pet Butler.

Pet Butler provides pet waste removal and other pet related services to homes and multi-family communities, also offering a variety of scheduling options. The business model is also set up to add expanding services such as; pet sitting and pet shuttles. The franchise offers large, protected territories that foster scalable growth and strong recurring revenue.

Said Kelly, “Marty has been blessed with the courage to take risks, to start business’, and with the opportunity to hire good staff and delegate work. Now we get to have a hands-on opportunity to start a new business together with Pet Butler, working off of Marty’s experience, corporate’s assistance, and my willingness to take on something out of my comfort zone. This will be a chance to promote more personal growth, and an opportunity to provide jobs for more people as the business grows. This will be another business we can begin as a legacy for our family.
